IKEA Indonesia - Swedish Meatball Phenomenon

Finally IKEA has opened first outlet in Indonesia at Alam Sutera, South Tangerang ! Yey they just opened in 15th October 2014 and everyone getting crazy with that, as I've seen at Instagram, many people posted about that and of course the freaking queue !! That's why I don't wanna come to early but when someone also posted about their Swedish Meatball, oh yes I miss this and wanna try their famous delicious meatballs, so I visited IKEA yesterday and I don't wanna go home because their product were awesome.

First of all, I wanna tell you a little about the store, in IKEA you will find inspiration from over 60 smart room-set solutions and three complete homes, all in a two-level stand alone store. Covering 33,000 sqm, including a 700 seat restaurant and over 1,000 parking spaces, you will find everything you need under one roof to transform your home into the most important place in the world.

IKEA started as an idea in the woods of southern Sweden 70 years ago, and the IKEA concept has been developing ever since. The IKEA store is designed to be family friendly, where people can get new home furnishing ideas and inspiration, touch and try our products, dine in our restaurant or enjoy the store experience.

IKEA has already well-known as one of the largest furniture and house living retailer in the world, I think some of you have visited their store overseas in Singapore or Malaysia, and yes in Indonesia they opened a super big store near Mal Alam Sutera, actually I've seen them quite long when I'm about to go to Serpong, and now they're officially opened.

This big area separated into some area, the Market Hall, Showroom, Bistro and Cafetaria.. well a little tips for you, please wear your most comfort shoes, because the hall was super huge but you won't get bored or tired because you can see many beautiful interior and can be an idea for your home decoration, anyway here I give you the direction to go to IKEA

Directions by car:
From Jakarta to IKEA via Jakarta - Tangerang toll:

1. From Jakarta - Tangerang toll, take the Kunciran exit.
2. Continue straight and turn right at the second intersection.
3. IKEA Alam Sutera will be located on your left side

From Jakarta to IKEA via Jakarta Outer Ring Road toll:

1. From JORR toll, take the BSD exit heading towards Jl. Raya Serpong.
2. Continue on Jl. Raya Serpong and turn right at the Alam Sutera roundabout.
3. Follow Jl. Alam Utama heading towards Jalur Sutera Boulevard. IKEA Alam Sutera will be located on your left side.

My favorite area here were their Showroom and Cafetaria, at Showroom you'll find a lot of IKEA's stuffs in your home design, so we can see how it works if we bought that, and I keep capturing the picture when I suddenly realized that my camera's battery in crisis condition, so I better turn it off because I don't wanna miss the moment in cafetaria :p well but I still taking picture my phone.

At IKEA you just need to walk around by the track, the company maintain it well and I bet after you finished the journey in Showroom you'll get hungry and here we come the Cafetaria, and it's super crowded !! I came here about 9 p.m and most of the food have sold out (salad, sandwiches) but don't worry they still have the famous swedish meatballs !!

>> Swedish Meatball
IDR 40.000 / 10 pcs
IDR 50.000 / 15 pcs
IDR 60.000 / 20 pcs

THIS IS WHAT EVERYONE BEEN WAITING FOR !! But ssttt the meatball here is halal, I don't is it good news or bad news for you, but every single person was ordering this, and so do I.. actually it looks smaller than the one I've tried in Singapore, but the texture still quite good and the sauce also good, served with french fries, actually I want mashed potato but too bad they didn't have it anymore that night, and one more thing they still don't have the delicious lingonberry jam :( will come back again for this Swedish Meatball when the Lingonberry Jam already available.

>> Swedish Poached Salmon with Chive sauce
IDR 60.000

Looks quite good from the serving, the Salmon also cooked well and soft yet juicy but too bad it's tasteless, the salmon was lack of seasoning and so the chive sauce, so it dipped this salmon into the swedish meatball's sauce, it's better now, should improve the seasoning.

>> Baked Chicken Leg with Dill Sauce
IDR 35.000

Another main course here, Baked Chicken Leg, the color of this chicken leg was quite good, and the taste of this baked chicken leg also quite good, just simply seasoning but the dill sauce wasn't working on me, I better have this Baked Chicken Leg with mustard and chili sauce, it's better you know :p

For the drink, you can order Tea/Coffee/Softdrink for only IDR 7.000 and it's refillable, beside the Cafetaria there's also bistro where you can buy Sweden Snack and Light Bites ! I must say the food here was so so, only their Swedish Meatball which really good but for sure the store has a super lovely stuffs, I wanna have them all for my own house soon, AMEN ! IKEA also suit for family weekend leisure, ciao for now  have a great weekend anyone ;)
